Our Outstanding Faculty

Robert E. Averbach, DDS, FICD, FACD, is Professor of Endodontics  at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry where he served as Dean from 1989 to 1998. He is a prolific contributor to scientific journals and textbooks, a member of the editorial board of Compendium, a reviewer for the Journal of the American Dental Association and a clinical consultant for the Dental Advisor. Dr. Averbach combines the perspective of an academician and a practicing "real world" clinician.



Anthony J DiAngelis, DMD, MPH, is Chief of Dentistry at Hennepin County Medical Center and Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Throughout his academic career, Dr. DiAngelis has maintained a private practice in Minneapolis and has served in a number of leadership positions in organized dentistry. Dr. DiAngelis has published widely in the dental literature and lectures extensively both nationally and internationally on the clinical management of traumatic dental injuries.



Denise Dupras, MD, PhD, completed her MD and PhD at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine followed by a residency in Internal Medicine and a General Internal Medicine fellowship. She joined the staff of the Division of Primary Care Internal Medicine in 1993 and currently practices at the Mayo Family Clinic Northwest in Rochester, MN. She is an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency at Mayo. She completed her degree as a pharmacist before beginning medical school. Her interests are anticoagulation, evidence based medicine, use of internet and APPS for medical care, and competency assessment in medical education. Outside of work she is an avid nature photographer and loves to whale watch.



Barry S. Goldenberg, DMD, MS, has been restoring implants since 1986 in his St. Louis County private practice, which is limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Reconstruction. During his lectures on restoring dental implants, he explores computer utilization in the diagnosis and treatment planning for implant dentistry. Dr. Goldenberg is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the ADA and the Academy of Osseointegration. He is also a Fellow in the ICOI and a Master in the IPS section of the ICOI.



Mel Hawkins, DDS, BScD AN, FADSA, graduated from the University of Toronto in 1973 and returned for his degree in dental anesthesiology in 1975-76. He is Director of the IV Sedation CDE Certification Program in Toronto, ON Canada. Pain free patient management has been his focus in over 30 years of private practice. Dr. Hawkins is a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.



Brad J. Potter, DDS, MS, is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.  He teaches the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology curriculum in the Department of Diagnostic and Biologic Sciences.  Dr. Potter is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.



Buck Reasor, DMD,  was a general dentist for 31 years in the Portland, OR area.  In 2003 he sold his practice and retired from dentistry.  He became a commercial real estate agent, specializing in the purchase, sale and leasing of dental offices.  This then transitioned into Reasor Professional Dental Services where Dr. Reasor has been helping dentists ever since.   Dr. Reasors knowledge and experience has proven invaluable in helping dentists through the dental practice transition process.



Beatriz Robles, DDS, received both her DDS and Certificate in Endodontics from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Following graduation, Dr. Robles entered private endodontic practice, as well as serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Endondotics at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Currently she is an assistant professor in the Division of Endodontics at the University of  Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Her research interests include local anesthetics efficacy and endodontic treatment techniques.
